I frequently get asked about which upgrades or renovations add the most value to a home. Here is the same advice I give to my friends and family: Make quick fixes if you are planning to sell a house, and make mammoth makeovers if you are planning to stay in the home for a long time.
If you are living in your “forever” home, then do the big projects because customizing your home makes you happy.
If you love your interest rate more than your home, then make your home feel more lovable—and more livable! Adding a fresh coat of interior paint and replacing curtains go a long way to freshen up a room. Demonstrate livability by replacing door handles and cabinet hardware. Replacing or adding light fixtures can transform a room and give it new life.
If you are deciding on which upgrades to make, then connect with me and I’d be delighted to answer any questions. And please, before you make any big, expensive improvements, check with me and I can tell you what the average return on investment is for many improvements.
